In order to be able to reach out to everyone, and help them achieve their dream, Guwahati College of Architecture provides its students with scholarships that help them ease their burden and enable them to focus on achieving excellence.

Smt. Saratbala Das “Akansha”

Scholarship for Girls willing to study Architecture in GCA (from Financially Weaker Background).

Smt. Saratbala Das “Akshayakeerti”

Scholarship for Boys willing to study Architecture in GCA (from Financially Weaker Background).

Objective :

This scholarship is aimed at targeting girls and boys from Financially Weaker background willing to study Architecture in GCA, encouraging them to study architecture and join a high end vocational professional education enabling them to lead a self dependent life.

Rate of Financial Assistance :

Under this Scheme financial Assistance to undergraduate students shall be provided as follows:

Category Parental Income (of both parents) ceiling per annum Percentage of Financial Assistance
A Upto 2.0 Lakhs 75% of the Tuition Fee
B Above 2.5 Lakhs to 3.0 Lakhs 50% of the Tuition Fee
C Above 3.5 Lakhs to 5.0 Lakhs 25% of the Tuition Fee


Eligibility Criteria

  • All the eligible first year students may apply who have obtained above 70% (under category A&B) and 75% (under category C)
  • The students fulfilling the criteria of parental income slab as mentioned above.
  • For the continuation of financial assistance to the students in 2nd, 3rd , 4thand 5th year of undergraduate level minimum average 60% (6.5 SGPA) , under category A & B and 65% (7.0 SGPA), under category C per semester will be a necessary condition.
  • The student should not have failed in any semester during his/her Academic term in GCA and must have cleared all the subjects of the previous semesters. Provided, relaxation may be sought from the Principal in case a student has repeated the semester due to health reason.
  • The student involved in any major or minor disciplinary violation, he/ she should not be eligible for subsidy during his/her remaining course at GCA.
  • Students will have to submit an undertaking with the application form to the effect that the scholarship may be withdrawn and penalty imposed if the documents submitted as income proof are found to be false after verification.
  • The students getting any other financial assistance / reimbursement towards expenditure on education from any other source viz Central / State Government / PSU / Trusts / private persons etc shall not be eligible to apply for the financial assistance under this scheme.
  • The eligible student will need to have a minimum 90% attendance in all semesters.
  • If the number of students goes beyond 40% (or as per management suggestion) of the overall student strength of GCA, the financial assistance will be given on the basis of prioritization of the students. In case of prioritization students whose parental income is the lowest, will get the priority.



Shri. Sarbeswar Das “Gyanratna”

Scholarship for Academically Brilliant Students willing to study Architecture in GCA (Excellent Academic Background).

Objective :

This scholarship is aimed at targeting Academically Brilliant students willing to study Architecture in GCA. Encouraging and targeting the exceptionally meritorious students (in AHSEC/CBSE/ICS Boards) to study architecture in GCA. It sets standards of Academically brilliant students to join the stream of Architecture in GCA.

Rate of Financial Assistance :

Under this Scholarship Scheme, eligible students shall be provided as follows:

“Star Achievers Award”

Award for outstanding Academic Excellence in Semester.

Objective :

This Award is aimed at targeting Academically Brilliant students in each semester already studying Architecture in GCA. Encouraging and targeting the exceptionally meritorious students in each semester, it sets standards of healthy competition in Academics. It will be rolled out to the Academic Topper in every Semester.

Under this Award, eligible students shall be provided as follows :

“Michelangelo Design Award”

Award for students winning National Brand Design Competitions

Objective :

This Award is aimed at promoting students to participate and win in serious national level design competitions in India (competition criterion to be selected by Management & Principal). It ensures the academic excellence of GCA students in the same parity with other Academic Institutions like JJ, IIT, etc.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students from any semester winning any of the Top Three Prizes in National Level Competitions ( to be selected by Management/Principal ).



“Polly Barua Saikia Memorial Scholarship”

Sponsored by Mrs. Elly Bhuyan in fond memory of her sister .

Objective :

Motivating students to academically outperform, Mrs Elly Bhuyan from USA and her family, provide a cash scholarship of Rs.10,000, to students (one boy and one girl) who top in their class in the 5th and 6th semester combined. This scholarship comes in fond memory of her sister Late "Ar. Polly Saikia" who was one of the first lady architect from Assam.

Criteria for the scholarship: It is merit based, and given to one girl and one boy, who have topped in their third year (5th and 6th semester combined)

“Earn While You Learn”

Scheme For students of GCA from 3rd Year onwards

Objective :

This scheme is a voluntary exercise aimed at encouraging existing students of GCA from 3rd Year onwards to work with us and earn some extra pocket money.
